Sport Events and News

At Moss Hey, we want to allow children to take part in competition so they are able to apply the skills taught. Representing the school, demonstartes our school values and allows children to become ambitious with their competitive aspirations as well as being resilient throughout it all.

Years 3 and 4 took part in a SportsHall Athletics competition at Cheadle Hulme High School and came out as the winners! They put in some amazing performances which should hopefully guarantee them a spot in the Borough finals, which will be played in the new year. Well done!

October

Each month, Woodbank Park host a Cross-Country event hosted by Stockport Harriers for Key Stage 2 children. It was wonderful to have children from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 racing in a very tough race! More details about the next race can be found below.

A team of 41 took on Cross Country at Bramhall High and we had lots of top 10 finishes and year group teams finishing in the top 3. It was a tough run on the grass with various hills but all children showed fantatsic resilience throughout the whole race and cheered on everyone from school.

September

Year 6 successfully completed their Bikeability and impressed the instructors with their skills and awarenss of bikes and other road users. They further learnt the importance of staying safe when cycling near to a road, as well as the importance of a helmet when riding at all times. They learnt skills such as signalling by lifting one arm off their handlebars, turning in smaller spaces and cycling with others. Well done Year 6!

Year 6 also went on their Outdoor and Adventurous Activity based residential to Robinwood. They had a brilliant 3 days where they were brave and conquered fears on the zipline, worked as a team to take on the pyranha pool and showed resilience on the giant swing.
